We think this is one of the most innovative and fun winter outdoor equipment designs in a long time. The 2006/2007 Karhu Karver Skis are a radically new approach that expands the traditional backcountry-free-heel market – absolutely no special boot and binding combination are needed! The Karhu Karver is designed with a fat oversized platform for an amazingly stable and maneuverable performance. The built-in strip of bearfur climbing skins provides lasting grip on the uphills and kick & glide stride. Wide platform delivers excellent balance for thrilling descents - no matter how steep the incline or tight the trees are! Full length metal edges for solid bite when climbing and total control when turning on the downhills, will even perform sweet telemark turns if that is your command. The fully-adjustable universal pre-mounted bindings allow you to use any hiking boot or snow boot, no specific ski boot necessary. Use with ski poles and you'll be breaking trail anywhere and blazing where even traditional nordic backcountry skis are not practical or easy to maneuver.

The Karhu Karver Skis are widetrak for bushwacking, breaking trail and all-terrain use in backyards, parks, ski trails, snowshoe trails and backcountry adventure.
Full metal edges for total control and stability in all snow conditions and ice. Ski construction is a wood core. Base integrated "Bearfur" Climbing Skin in sintered base. Universal binding is designed to fit any hiking shoe or winter boot, and the binding combines an adjustable telescoping body with a PU highback for ultimate stability, control, and flexibility. Forefoot and instep ratcheting buckles ensure easy adjustment for the ultimate in comfort.
PLEASE NOTE: The Karhu Karver features a slightly longer length and narrower waist than the Karhu Meta Skis. The result is that the Karver is a more high-performance model targeted for advanced users anticipating much more varied and steeper terrain in the backcountry. For more novice & intermediate users seeking adventure in parks, wooded trails and rolling terrain we highly suggest the Karhu Meta Skis model.
