The 2011 Voile SX Telemark Ski Bindings are based on the wildly popular Voile Switchback Telemark Bindings. Essentially the same binding as the SwitchBack without the free-pivot mode for climbing up mountains. The Voile SX bindings feature a fabulously simplified binding platform in order to address durability, weight and performance issues found on many competitors' general-use telemark bindings. Permanently riveted to the binding riser platform is a full-wrap stainless steel toe-plate. This dramatically increases durability and eliminates the need for screws and anti-ice plates, while simultaneously reducing overall weight.
Bottom line is the Voile SX tele-binding fills a much needed gap in the performance grade general use telemark ski bindings market. Combination of the full-wrap stainless steel toe-plate and Voile time-tested Hardwire heel will please any teleskier hitting the most challenging backcountry conditions and terrain. We highly recommend the Voile Climbing Wires for elevating the heel and reducing fatigue while climbing (see below).
